Special Weeks 

National Doughnut Week – 11th 

This special week isn’t just about our fave squidgy snack it’s also about raising awareness and funds for The Childrens Trust. There are lots of ways to get involved like organising a doughnut day for your colleagues or friends or by simply treating yourself at one of the participating bakeries. #NationalDoughnutWeek

Mental Health Awareness Week – 13th 

Founded by the Mental Health Foundation Mental Health Awareness Week has been shining a light on mental health since 2001. This year the theme is Body Image and looking at how we think and feel about our bodies. It’s super easy to get involved, simply post a picture of a time or a place when you felt comfortable in your own skin, use the hashtags #BeBodyKind and #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek and also tag @mentalhealthfoundation on Instagram and Facebook or @mentalhealth on Twitter.

National Vegetarian Week – 13th 

Join in by sharing your fave veggie recipes or choose one of the activities over on the Vegetarian Societies page to get involved in. Restaurant or café? Share any special dishes you have planned at the start of the month to gain some momentum ahead of the week. #NationalVegetarianWeek

English Wine Week – 25th 

Chin chin! Whether you sell, serve or just like a tipple now and again its really easy to get involved with this week. Simply share your pics and use the hashtag #EnglishWineWeek.

National BBQ Week – 27th 

As well as being a pastime some of us like to enjoy when the weather heats up, BBQ is also a huge food trend so much so that it has its own week. Get involved by sharing your fave BBQ creations or recipes. #NationalBBQWeek

Star Wars Day – 4th 

If you are a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise today is your say to shine, share pics of your fave characters, quotes or memorabilia. #StarWarsDay #MayTheFourthBeWithYou

May Day – 6th 

May Day is not just a bank holiday. In England it is said to be a time when people celebrate the coming of summer traditions include the crowning a May Queen and dancing around a maypole. However you choose to celebrate make sure you use the hashtags #MayDay19 #MayDay #MayBankHoliday

World Fairtrade Day – 11th 

Organised by the World Fair Trade Organisation, the aim of the day is to celebrate Fair Trade and encourage choosing Fair Trade goods. If you supply or stock Fair Trade goods this is a great day to get involved with and perhaps think about sharing the story of the items on social to. #LiveFair #FairTradeDay

World Meditation Day – 15th 

This day is all about celebrating the benefits of meditation. Share you tips for meditation, your meditation journey or even details of any apps to tools you use.  #WorldMeditationDay #Meditation 

International Museums Day – 18th 

Coordinated by ICOM the goal of this day is to is to raise awareness of museums. This year the theme is Museums as Cultural Hubs and will focus on how museums have the power to establish dialogue between cultures by sharing knowledge. Head to museums a lot? Share some info about your favourite collection and why. #InternationalMuseumsDay

World Turtle Day – 23rd 

In its 17th year this day is all about shellebrating Turtles (I know couldn’t resist the pun!). Share your pics or turtle facts or if you are feeling generous think about adopting a turtle. #WorldTurtleDay 

Late May Bank Holiday – 27th 

Whether it’s a scorcher or a washout share how you are spending your 2nd Bank Holiday of the month with your followers. #MayBankHoliday #BankHoliday

National Biscuit Day – 29th

Share what you fave biccie is for dunking or crunching with your followers today. Baker? Think about sharing a recipe or even a little ‘how to’ video via stories. #NationalBiscuitDay

April Social Content Inspo …

Well I for one am egg-stremely excited that April is almost here …

I love April, its when you start to really see Spring, well Spring to life.

Lots of teeny lambs, bunnies and the like start to arrive plus who doesn’t love an Easter bank holiday filled with choccie eggs and hot cross buns?   

So you can spend more time enjoying your April I have curated a selection of special dates to give you a helping hand with your social content creation.

Special Weeks 

World Autism Awareness Week: 1st – 7th 

This week is dedicated to raising awareness around Autism and funds for the National Autistic Society.

The funds raised will be used to continue running awareness campaigns, training professionals working with autistic people and much more.

National Stationery Week: 29th – 5th (May)

If like me you are a huge fan of all things stationery (who doesn’t love a new notepad!) you really need to get involved with this week.

Ran by the London Stationery Show this week is all about encouraging more people to write things such as letters, cards and notes and hearing all about peoples fave products brands.

You could get involved by sharing mindfulness techniques you use your notepads for, a pic of your beautiful handwriting or just a chic flat lay or your fave organisation products.

National Gardening Week: 29th – 5th (May)

Green Fingered? This week is all about you … ran by the RHS, National Gardening Week is all about encouraging more people to garden and to further raise awareness of gardening and horticulture.

This years theme is Edible Britain so if you grow your own produce now is the time to shout about it. Share pics of your homegrown fruit and veggies with info about how you cared for them or even the recipes you are going to use them for.


Special Days 

April Fools Day – 1st 

If you’re a keen prankster now is your time to shine, join in the fun by filming your pranks or sharing what you fave practical joke is.

Just make sure you keep it light hearted and don’t hurt anyone’s feelings.


Children’s Book Day – 2nd

This day always falls on or around Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday, and was founded to celebrate childrens books and to inspire a love of reading. More info can be found here. 

Take this opportunity to share your fave childrens book of all time or share a memorable quote from a book you read as a child or read to your children now.

One of my fave book quotes is from The Twits – “A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” 


International Pillow Fight Day – 6th 

Thought pillow fights just took place at sleepovers in American films? Wrong!! On the 6th April people will be taking to the streets to take part in massive pillow fights which are taking place in cities around the world including London and New York.

Get involved with the pillow fighting flash mobs or organise your own team pillow fight.


Easter – Good Friday – 19th & Easter Sunday – 21st 

There are so many things to celebrate over these few days, firstly the majority of people will have FOUR WHOLE DAYS OFF WORK and will be catching up with friends and family. If you are doing the same share what you are getting up to and what other local businesses you are supporting.

Working? Share any special offers you have and keep and eye out for user generated content you can RT and share.

Other content ideas are Spring images, so some lovely daffodils, little lambs or even your choccie egg haul.

Traditionally Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday and then celebrate Easter Sunday as the day he was resurrected.

Saint George’s Day – 23rd 

This day is all about celebrating St George, England’s patron saint. According to legend, he was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess.

Keep your content traditional by sharing some dragon related content or take the opportunity to share some quintessentially English items … such as a delightful gin cocktail, some bunting or perhaps some scones. If you are feeling creative you could re-create the Saint George’s Cross with your cream and Jam.

Whatever you decide to do make sure you use the hashtag : #StGeorgesDay

World Penguin Day – 25th 

This day is all about the worlds favourite flightless birds…there are 17 species of penguins so now the time to pick your fave (I know its hard) and share some penguin related facts, pictures or puns.

Feeling generous? Why not adopt a penguin with the WWF you’ll get a cute cuddly toy, updates on a regular basis and a warm fuzzy feeling that you’ll be helping these lovely creatures that are in real danger of becoming extinct.


The London Marathon – 28th 

This year fundraising for this event has reached £1billion and has supported a wide range of causes thanks to the dedications of its runners and fundraisers.

If you’re running make sure you share content about your training journey on the run up to the marathon and share how much you have raised.

At home watching? you can still get involved by well wishing friends who are running or just supporting the runners in general using the hashtags.

March Social Inspo…

Hello Lovely people! So it looks like Spring might be starting to … well…spring in to action.

As March is nearly here and so I thought I would do another post about the special dates this month to help give you some inspiration about what to post on social during the month.

As well as International / National Days there are also a lot of special weeks you can get involved in throughout March to.

Special Weeks …

British Pie Week, 4th – 10th March  

Pies are lots of peoples go to comfort food … I myself are partial to a large slice of apple pie. To get involved perhaps share you fave recipes or if you sell pies this week is a great time to run a special offer or a limited edition filling. Make sure you include the hashtag #BritishPieWeek on all your lovely posts.

National Careers Week, 4th – 10th March  

This week is run by NCW, who are a not-for-profit company that are dedicated to promoting the importance of good careers education in schools and colleges. Head this way to find out more.

British Science Week, 8th – 17th March  

British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths. There’s lots of different events and activities running over the course of the 10 days which you can get involved in. Click here to find out more. In terms of content if you are science or tech based perhaps think about sharing an interesting infographic or some interesting facts. Alternatively you could celebrate your fave scientist or if you’re London based head over to the Science Museum and share the story of your visit.

Special Days …

St David’s Day – 1st 

This day is all about celebrating St David, the patron saint of Wales. Get involved by sharing some content that is based on one or both of Wales’s national emblems – a daffodil and a leek. Don’t forget to tag #StDavidsDay in your posts.

Pancake Day – 5th 

Also know as Shrove Tuesday, I know it feels a little late this year but this is because Pancake Day is always celebrated exactly 47 days before Easter Sunday. Traditionally families prepare to start Lent the next day by using up all of the treats in their kitchen cupboards in the form of pancakes. Whatever you reason for celebrating or getting involved make sure you show off your pancakes on social … unusual combo or take a video showcasing your incredible flipping skills.

World Book Day – 7th 

This day is organised by the registered charity of the same name, their aim is to give every child and young person a book of their own and celebrate authors, books and reading. Get involved by sharing you fave book / author as a child and make sure you use the hashtag #WorldBookDay.

International Women’s Day – 8th 

This years theme is #balanceforbetter and is all about driving gender balance to create a better working world. This year the IWD team are asking people to get involved by posting their #IWD2019 message on social with a “hands out” balance pose for a strong call-to-action. Find out more here.

Free on the 6th March and based in Cambridge? Come on over to the Cambridge Girl Tribe Gang meetup, its IWD themed with a cracking speaker and the opportunity to meet other wonderful business babes!! 

Red Nose Day – 15th 

A great way to get involved with Red Nose Day is to do some fundraising where people can follow your journey to your target. Some ideas can be found on their website. Alternatively you can support the charity by buying a red nose … make sure you take lots of pics and post them using the hashtag!

St Patricks Day – 17th 

Another day celebrating a patron saint, this time its St Patrick the patron saint of Ireland. Get involved by sharing sharing your fave shamrock fact, a recipe for Irish Stew or simply a pic of you enjoying a pint of Guinness. Don’t forget to join the conversation online by using the hashtag #stpatricksday.

Spring Equinox – 20th 

Thats right people the first day of Spring is here!!! That means lighter mornings and evenings and the possibility of being able to start wearing one or two layers less – HURRAH!

Content wise thing about things that are associated with spring so daffodils, tulips, lambs etc. Also Spring is all about clear outs (share you Marie Kondo escapades) and also fresh starts so perhaps share some new goals you have.

Wear a Hat Day – 29th 

This day isn’t just about wearing a sassy outfit its also about raising money for brain tumour research. Since the first Wear a Hat Day in 2010 the charity has raised over a million pounds!! There are many different ways to get involved, including hat making competitions or purchasing one of the incredible brooches that have been designed in collaboration with celebrated Milliners. How ever you decide to get involved make sure you post lots of pictures, use the hashtag and most importantly of all, donate what you can to this amazing cause.

Mothering Sunday – 31st 

This day is all about celebrating our Mummas…if you are happy to, share a pic of you and your mum to celebrate. If you have created special offers to celebrate this day make sure you are sharing throughout the month using the hashtags #mothersday and #motheringsunday.
